Founded in 2016, Mhogo Foods is dedicated to processing Gluten Free and grain free cassava flour. We are located in Kenya and work closely with small scale farmers to make sure we give you the best quality of cassava flour. Our goal is to contribute to achieving Zero Hunger by 2030, positively impacting small-holder farmers while our mission is to be the leading company providing affordable gluten free flour in Africa.

Gluten-Free Pancakes



  • 3⁄4 cup Mhogo Foods Cassava Flour
  • 1 1⁄2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2⁄3 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil


  1. Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, and cooking oil.
  3. Add milk mixture to the dry ingredients, and whisk until well blended.
  4. Let stand for about 10 minutes.
  5. Preheat ungreased, non-stick frying pan to medium heat.
  6. Pour batter by spoonfuls onto the hot pan.
  7. Pancakes are ready to be turned over when the edges are no longer glossy, and the bubbles that pop stay open.
  8. To check the second side for doneness, you just have to lift an edge of the pancake up with a spatula and take a peek.

Gluten-Free Chocolate Cake



  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups Mhogo Foods Cassava flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two nine inch round pans or any chape that you like
  2. In a large bowl, stir together the sugar, Mhogo Foods Cassava flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, oil and vanilla, mix for 2 minutes on medium speed of mixer.
  4. Stir in the boiling water last(sometimes I add instant coffee or brewed coffee to this water). Batter will be thin. Pour evenly into the prepared pans.
  5. Bake 30 to 35 minutes in the preheated oven, until the cake tests done with a toothpick.
  6. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Decorate with cream of choice and enjoy with family and friends
